It's a busy week!
Parent Teacher Conferences, Unity Day, Frank Delima, Drama, Thursday Opera Play, and visual arts on Friday. Conferences are going well and on schedule- Thank you Parents! If you have any questions or would like to talk throughout the year, please contact me, I am always here. We are doing well and everyday we are continuing to learn and practice. Frank Delima spoke about getting smarter, staying healthy, and being more kind. He reminded students to read, eat fruits, vegetables and drink water, and focusing in school. Students got to sing the famous "Peanut, Peanut Butter and Jelly" song and they also "Went on a Buta hunt" Drama with Ms. Donna- acted and sang songs for 3 Little Pigs "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf, big bad wolf, big bad wolf, tra, la, la, la, la." Commitment- When you put your heart into what you are doing. Beginning, middle, and end picture/tableau (group stage picture) Actors in a tableau face out, exaggerate face, use different body levels and angles, freeze solid, and tell story with pose Please see posted photos.

PTSA REFLECTIONS ART CONTEST 2018!
This is a voluntary art contest your child can enter. It's a wonderful experience for all ages to partake in. Reflection contest theme is: Heres Around Me The categories are: Dance Film production Literature Music composition Photography Visual Arts Students can submit entries for multiple categories. DUE DATE: Monday, November 26th Turn entries into Mrs. Smith in person. Do not turn into the office. Got questions or need help getting started? We are going, going, going. Here are some reminders... Please have student bring his/her book bag project with name on the paper project and check bag for the book to got with it. DUE Wednesday, 10-3-18. Sorry, I don't remember when I set the Scholastic book order to be due online- but please enter an order by Thursday night. I will send it through on Friday. So you still have time. Remember, this is optional. Book It Pizza coupons: students have received a pizza coupon attached to their September book log- please keep this book log and coupon at home. I will not reissue any coupons. The coupon expires at the end of October. Please help your student track their daily reading on book log and sign. Also, please continue to practice asking questions (a resource is in student's hw binder) to help with reading comprehension. Please visit our class website to enjoy our pictures and what is happening in class. Next week is fall break (Oct. 8-12) please enjoy but also have student practice typing club, learning upgrade math and reading, and fastt math. Before the break, students will be introduced to endangered Hawaiian animals. Students will pick 1 animal in class and during the break they will start gathering some information and research. Your student will bring home a 2nd check-in to show how they did on the U1W5 test and module 2 math test- Tomorrow, 10-3-18. Our 1st quarter is coming to an end and report cards will be sent out towards the middle of October. Parent-teacher conference times have been assigned, please email me if you need to make a change as soon as possible. |
